We don’t want to be a generation subject to the draft! The already mandatory requirement to fill out questionnaires, the compulsory military physical examinations, and the plans to reinstate the draft are massive infringements on young people’s freedom. We firmly reject this militarization of society.
We are witnessing the largest military buildup since World War II. Soon, every other euro in the federal budget will go toward military spending and war. We all have to pay for this—with rising prices, cuts to social services, crumbling schools, an unresolved climate crisis, and underfunded hospitals. For the Bundeswehr, on the other hand, record levels of debt are being incurred to build it into “Europe’s strongest conventional army.” At the expense of our future.
Young people do not want to perform compulsory military service or be trained to kill. For this reason, we—as grandparents, parents, friends, siblings, students, and young people—oppose the federal government’s current course of action.
We’re taking to the streets to demand:
We stand in solidarity with all people around the world who are working to oppose war. For this reason, there is no place at our event for individuals or groups from the ethno-nationalist, nationalist, racist, anti-Semitic, or far-right spectrum.
